The Government has increased incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles by 35%, totalling £13.5 million in 2025. This support covers electric bicycles, chargers, electric cars and motorcycles.
Bicycles
- Electric-assisted bicycles – Support of 50% of the purchase price, up to €1,500
- Conventional bicycles without assistance– Support of 50% of the purchase price, up to £1,000.
- Electric city bikes – Support incentive of 50% of the purchase price, up to €750.
- Conventional city bikes – Support of 50% of the purchase price, up to €500.
100% electric cars
- Support of €4,000 for private individuals (with scrapping of fossil fuel vehicles over 10 years old).
- €5,000 for IPSS and other social institutions, local authorities and transport authorities (with scrapping of fossil fuel vehicles over 10 years old).
- Eligible new 100% electric vehicles, with first purchase and registration after 1 January 2025.
- Eligible vehicles purchased after 1 January 2025 or leased for a minimum of 24 months after that date.
- Purchase price limit: €38,500 (including VAT and associated expenses) or €55,000 for vehicles with more than 5 seats.
Chargers for Electric Vehicles
- In condominiums: 80% of the value of the charger (up to €800) and 80% of the electrical installation (up to €1,000 per space).
- Maximum of 10 incentives per condominium/CPE.
Electric Motorcycles, Mopeds, Tricycles and Quadricycles
- Support of 50% of the purchase price, up to €1,500.
Other electric personal mobility devices:
- Support of 50% of the purchase price, up to €500.
Applications open until 30 November 2025 or until the available budget is exhausted.
Beneficiaries' obligations: Keep possession of the vehicle/charger for at least 24 months and do not export the vehicles.
