Government reinforces Support Programme for More Sustainable Buildings with €60 million

Support Programme for More Sustainable Buildings Exceeds €30 Million in Payments and Receives €60 Million Boost

The ministry stressed that the €30 million already paid represents the initial amount set in the Environmental Fund tender. The new €60 million boost will enable ‘the analysis and payment of the remaining applications, ensuring greater reach and impact of the programme’.

The Minister for the Environment, quoted in the press release, stated that with this boost, all applications will be analysed and eligible projects ‘will receive the necessary support’. ‘There is an unequivocal commitment from the Government to energy efficiency and sustainability throughout the country,’ the minister added.

The amount of €30 million reached today was established as the maximum allocation for the programme, which aims to promote Energy Efficiency in Residential Buildings, under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The high demand for the programme, with around 42,000 applications still to be analysed, led to the reinforcement of €60 million to ensure that all eligible applications can be supported and that the energy efficiency and sustainability objectives are fully achieved.

‘This is an important step towards ensuring that all citizens can benefit from the support they need to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings and contribute to a more sustainable future,’ concludes the ministry.
