Is selling surplus energy worthwhile?

It is common for a family not to consume all the energy produced by the photovoltaic system, considering that at various times of the day, production exceeds energy consumption. Instead of giving away the surplus, sell it to an electricity supplier.

This process has become even simpler. In order to simplify VAT collection and reduce bureaucratic costs, at the end of 2022, the sale of energy for self-consumption will no longer be subject to VAT, with responsibility falling solely on those who carry out the work. Anyone with an installed capacity of 1MW or less will no longer be required to pay VAT if they sell the surplus.
