Portugal is experiencing the effects of Depression Martinho, which has led to warnings of strong winds, heavy rainfall, and rough seas. The districts of Lisbon, Leiria, and Setúbal experienced the most significant events.
The depression caused wind gusts of over 100 km/h and heavy rainfall. Between midnight and 7 a.m. on Thursday, 20 March, more than 4,000 incidents were recorded across the country, mobilising 14,560 personnel.
In the Leiria region, which was under an orange warning until 8 a.m., 221 incidents were recorded due to wind, rain and rough seas. The electricity grid suffered constraints, affecting 82,000 customers of E-Redes. The most impacted districts were Leiria, Coimbra and Viana do Castelo, according to information from the EDP group company.
We recommend checking the condition of solar panels after the storm has passed. In case of damage or the need for assessment, we offer equipment maintenance and inspection services. Ensure that your energy production has not been affected by Storm Martinho and count on us so it doesn't happen again.
