Renewable energies supplied 87% of electricity in November

Energy production from renewable sources supplied 87% of the electricity consumed in our country in November.

Only 2% of national consumption is due to exports.

  • Hydroelectric energy recorded a productivity index of 2.02, the third highest value in REN's records for this month.
  • On 5 November, hydraulic energy recorded a new historical maximum of power supplied to the grid, reaching 6,719 MW.
  • Wind energy recorded a monthly index of 1.04.
  • Photovoltaic energy recorded a monthly index of 0.92.

Looking back and analysing the situation since the beginning of the year, from January to November, REN indicates that ‘From the beginning of the year to the end of November, renewable production supplied around 59% of consumption, divided between wind power with 25%, hydroelectric power with 21%, photovoltaic power with 7% and biomass with 6%".
