Support for the implementation of Renewable Energy Communities and Collective Self-Consumption

The Environmental Fund has issued a new call for proposals with the aim of financing measures that enable citizens, businesses and other public and private entities to produce, share, store and sell energy.

The beneficiaries are:

  • Renewable Energy Communities (REC): legal entities whose members, partners or shareholders may be natural or legal persons, public or private, including SMEs or local authorities.
  • Self-consumers: end consumers who produce renewable energy for their own consumption at their premises and who may store or sell electricity from their own renewable production, provided that, in the case of non-domestic self-consumers of renewable energy, these activities do not constitute their main commercial or professional activity, and they carry out their activity in Collective Self-Consumption (CSC);
  • Self-consumption management entities (EGAC): natural or legal persons who can represent CERs and CSCs.
